AUDIO LEARNING
PROGRAMME
"You have to have a leadership culture running
right through the organisation, and even people
in the most junior positions can play a
leadership role.
Tim Melville-Ross. Past President, Chartered Management Institute
Who is the Programme Designed For?
The programme is designed for participants who wish to control their own learning by allowing them
to study at their own pace, in their own environment. The course material is accessed by them only when they are ready
to progress to the next stage of the programme. The content is designed for hospitality employees who either currently lead small teams of
up to 20 staff (such as junior managers or supervisors within restaurants, kitchens, reception or accommodation services) or are seen
as having the potential to take up a team leader role.
The work is directed by six lively audio tutorials delivered by Alan Cutler FIH FCMI, Principal of
The School for Hospitality Leadership and creator of The Hospitality Leadership Excellence Survey,
who has over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, the past seven spent developing catering managers and supervisors across
the country through his own training company. He is a published author on the subject and is recognised as one of the
UK's leading authorities on leadership within the hospitality industry
For employers, audio learning offers an extremely cost-effective alternative to more traditional
training in that it involves:
Ø
No lost productivity
Ø
No travel and accommodation costs
Ø
No venue and trainer costs
Ø
Considerably increased retention due to staff working at their own pace
and, from little over £100 + VAT per person, it is very much cheaper than sending staff
on an external training course.
Also, as an additional inspirational benefit, all participants are entitled to a free special
offer, worth £12.99 ...

When the participant has completed all six tutorials he or she will be invited to complete an
optional written assessment of the knowledge they have gained, at a small additional cost. Being conscious of the fact that not
everyone is comfortable writing long examination answers, the assessment is in the short-answer format. Based on the results of this final
assessment, successful participants will receive a signed, certificated record of their achievement.
Summary
In summary, The Inspirational Team Leadership Audio Learning Programme, designed and
delivered by The School for Hospitality Leadership, is a sector-specific development programme for current or potential hospitality
supervisors and junior managers who wish to learn at their own pace. It offers significant benefits for both the participants and
their employer - not least significant cost savings over attendance at an external training course. Participants are taught a
comprehensive range of team leadership skills as directed by six lively tutorials from Alan
Cutler, the School's Principal and one of the country's leading authorities on leadership within the hospitality industry. Participants
complete the programme by identifying the actions they intend to apply to become more inspirational team leaders, before taking the
optional written assessment of the knowledge they have gained.
