A resource for current and future leaders of the hospitality industry

THE HOSPITALITY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

In April 2007, Alan Cutler was commissioned by the hospitality industry's sector skills council, People1st, to propose a working model for a Hospitality Leadership Academy which would offer a range of services, either in clients' premises or in regional venues, with the objective of:

'Developing the knowledge and application of inspirational leadership within the UK hospitality industry'

The final report, presented to People1st on 2 May, included the following sections:

1. Background and scope of project

2. The case for a Hospitality Leadership Academy

3. Current provision of leadership development programmes

4. A proposed working model

Please click on the links above to read the significant elements of each section. For further information please contact Alan using the email link at the bottom of the page or call him on 01676 533996. We would also welcome comments and suggestions as regards the recommendations contained within the report.

The report is currently being considered by KPMG, consultants commissioned by People1st to advise on the formation of the larger Hospitality Skills Academy, of which the Leadership Academy would form part. For further information on the Hospitality Skills Academy project, please contact Phil Raynsford, Policy and Strategic Director, People1st on 07769 643218.

We will update this page as further decisions are made in respect of the formation of a Hospitality Leadership Academy
